Meki Maruno is a protogen who claims to have come from "two eastern countries." Nobody knows what and where these countries exactly are.
General Information
Backstory
Meki is a travelling protogen who sails through the cosmos on his flying UFO. Before living in the city, he used to reside in two other "eastern countries outside of reality." These countries have yet to be revealed as Meki would rather keep them secret. However, he calls them by the lands of "fantasy" and "unreality" respectively. He arrived and was forced to take residence in the city after he crashed and wrecked his UFO into the house of two other protogens.
Meki was the one who introduced cards into the country, and the entire danmaku sport as a whole. This started after Ur Ami gained interest and got ahold of one of his cards (with permission, thankfully enough). This led to the workings of the cards being discovered by the pigeon entrepreneur, which allowed them to become mass-produced. Despite that, only those with innate talent can access the full potential of the cards they hold.
Personality
Meki is an avid traveller who loves new experiences. He always desires to learn more about the worlds he visits, and may even take residence in one if he finds them to be of his liking.
He is rather friendly and carefree, though he knows when to take things seriously. He is wise with the areas he is experienced with, such as travel and danmaku, and has strong intuition and dedication when it comes to them. He has an open mind and is willing to learn about new things.
He also has a fascination for birds and fine arts.
Abilities
Immense Danmaku Skill
Other than the abilities automatically given by cards (flight and danmaku), he has no other special combat-related talents. However, he makes up for this with his immense skill and dexterity with danmaku. Many practicioners have heavy respect for him as a result.
Occupation
He currently goes to college with Arnie Valle to learn more about the world around him. Outside of college, he participates regularly in danmaku tournaments as a feared opponent.
Relationships
Arnie Valle
Meki has a close relationship with Arnie Valle. He likes hanging out with him and the two often go for gimmicks around the city. He also teaches Arnie about danmaku and talks about his own adventures on occasion.
Mr. Schmoghart
Mr. Schmoghart, despite getting mad at him at first for destroying his house, eventually lets Meki reside with him and Arnie Valle. Since then, the three have become like family.
